Sustainability and CSR
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) are important values in the mission of Corthogreen. In addition to economic value, we also want to create social value. We do this by creating growing products. Corthogreen is also active in the social field. We have our own packaging company ‘Hupackso’ with people at a distance from the labor market.
Biodegradable products
The global waste gets bigger and bigger. That is why Corthogreen BV thinks it is important that their products are as biodegradable as possible. Our growth paper (seed paper) and seed ribbons are 100% biodegradable. This is also an important point of attention when developing new products.
For example, the development of grow sets with biodegradable pots. We want to reduce the use of plastic so we use as many recyclable packaging materials as possible. All products can be found in the product category ‘organic – zero waste’.
Corporate Social Responsibility
We believe it is important to be socially involved as a company, so that we also create social value. A lot of work will be done mechanically, but a large part has to be done manually. For this we started our own packaging company in 2016 (Hupackso BV). Within this packaging company, employees who have a distance to the labour market work here. Thanks to the pleasant working atmosphere, the employees can function properly and all products are carefully packaged on our supervision.
Skal Bio-control label
Skal Biocontrole is committed to supervising organic products in the Netherlands. They check whether a company meets the legal requirements. When a company complies, a certification mark is given to the organic organization.

NAK horticulture label
Corthogreen BV is supervised by NAK horticulture. This organization monitors and promotes the quality of products, processes and chains in horticulture. The focus is on propagating material (seed-planting material). NAK-horticulture is an independent administrative body and carries out its task for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and are also supervised by the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority).
